Hi, I'm Andrew Keenan Richardson.
Limit Cycle Labs is where I put side projects: experiments, tools, and ideas I want to poke at. My longer writing lives on Mechanistic Mind, a blog about cognitive science, linguistics, AI, neuroscience, and life.
What I work on
I'm currently the Head of AI with Netholabs AI, where we are building Neural Foundation Models of the mammalian brain.
Things I'd love to talk about
- Neuroscience-inspired ML, including spiking networks and biologically plausible alternatives to backpropagation
- The functional components of intelligence
- Automated reasoning: argument formulation and cognitive backtracking
- LLM code generation
- RL, long-term memory, and tool use in language models
Outside of work: effective altruism, self-improvement, reading, hiking, and tabletop RPGs.
